Scope: To achieve high precision tolerances while machining super duplex, it was essential to ensure that mating parts met very close fit tolerance requirements. Consistency and repeatability being crucial to guarantee each part in the batch is identical and, therefore, interchangeable.

The application is for a unique marine project where the components must be made from super duplex and delivered to high tolerances to withstand the harsh seawater environment and maintain the core safety function for the long term.
